Get Moving!

I just want to share what I read for my devotional today. It is taken from My Utmost For His Highest by Oswald Chambers. I absolutely love this yearly devotional because Oswald Chamber has a way of going straight to the heart of the topic in only a few paragraphs. I highly recommend this book!

Anyways, here's what I read today:

"Abide in Me..." (john 15:4)
In the matter of determination. The Spirit of Jesus is put into me by way of the atonement by the Cross of Christ. I then have to build my thinking patiently to bring it into perfect harmony with my Lord. God will not make me think like Jesus--I have to do it myself. I have to bring "every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:5). "abide in every one of the matters that make human life what it is. Our lives are not made up of only one neatly confined area.
Am I preventing God from doing things in my circumstances by saying that it will only serve to hinder my fellowship with Him? How irrelevant and disrespectful that is! It does not matter what my circumstances are. I can be as much assured of abiding in Jesus in any one of them as I am in any prayer meeting. It is unnecessary to change and arrange my circumstances myself. Our Lord's inner abiding was pure and unblemished. He was at home with God wherever His body was. He never chose His own circumstances, but was meek, submitting to His Father's plans and directions for Him. Just think of how amazingly relaxed out Lord's life was! But we tend to keep God at a fever pitch in our lives. We have none of the serenity of the life which is "hidden with Christ in God" (Colossians 3:3).
Think of the things that take you out of the position of abiding in Christ. You say, Yes, Lord, just a minute--I sill have this to do. Yes, I will abide as soon as this is finished, or as soon as this week is over. It will be all right, Lord. I will abide then." Get moving--begin to abide now. In the initial stages it will be a continual effort to abide, but as you continue, it will become to much a part of your life that you will abide in Him without any conscious effort. Make the determination to abide in Jesus wherever you are now or wherever you may be placed in the future.

On March 28, 25 years ago... I entered the world at 9:18pm, weighing in at 6 lbs 15 oz. It was just my mom & I then, because my dad was still in the Philippines. I Know Who I Am

Today I felt like crap...twice (over the same thing). I've fallen into that lie that Satan loves to sell me--the lie that I'm fat and that my physical body is ugly. It's a popular product that many girls & women so easily accept. It's a sad truth and an unfortunate reality. How many people have called themselves "fat" after stuffing themselves from a buffet restaurant? But how many still call themselves "fat" after skipping a few days from eating? Ok yea, I haven't gone to the extreme of not eating for a day but I do have those feelings of being "fat" even though my weight is considered appropriate for my height. And no matter how many times my friends or family tell me I "look" fine, I could not come to terms with it in my head. Last Entry for 2012

Another year is coming to a close and all I can think is... This year has gone by super fast! Well, I had hoped to write more entries since my last update, but I guess I can write a quick one just to summarize a few highlights of 2012: 1. GRAD SCHOOL So yes, I finally was able to graduate with my Masters in Social Work! When I look back at my time during the program, I just think of how fast it's gone by. I remember how each semester I wondered if I was going to pass, thinking that there might be the off chance I have to retake the class and get held back another semester. I guess you could say I was a little paranoid. BUT I'm so thankful for the handful of people who are quick to remind me of God's faithfulness and His all sufficient grace. 2. HEALTH Yea...so, I can definitely say that my diet has been increasingly healthy if compared to previous years where only about less than 10% of what I consumed were raw/steamed vegetables.
