I'm a living vapor...

At Sharky's (one of PCB's hot spot) From March 10-17, I attended a Cru conference--Big Break! It's a weeklong conference that takes place over spring break in Panama City Beach, FL. Throughout the week we attend general seminars that train and equip us with practical tools to share our faith and are challenged each day to approach all kinds of people all over the city. Then during the evening session, anybody can come on stage and share their experience, whether or not a person has prayed to receive Christ. It has been so inspiring to hear so many people share their awesome God-moments and +1 experiences, (for example) where those who call themselves atheist turn agnostic or those who were agnostic take the next step to turn their lives over to God! This year's theme is VISIBLE. Motivated by 1 John 1:1-4, we who claim to have a personal relationship with God must go out into the "world" and let our light shine as bright as day! How should our lives look like when we live like we're dying? If death were imminent, that would seem to be the only time we realize how much we haven't taken advantage of the opportunities to tell people we love them or show them that we care. This morning I had my date with God. :] It was a much needed quality time alone with Him at my quiet spot. I love having these special moments with Him because it's through my dates that He reminds me how much He truly loves me. It's refreshing and invigorating! To get me in the right mindset for our date, I meditated on 2 songs by Kari Jobe: My Beloved & Healer. I put them on repeat a couple times but it only took the first song to play a second time to break me and bring me to my knees (I was literally crying my eyes out, lol). To understand the effectiveness of the song, please read the lyrics (phrase by phrase) and meditate/reflect on them for a moment. A couple nights ago I couldn't sleep, so I stayed up finishing the book Captivating (by John and Stasi Eldredge). I mentioned this book in my last post, and I've got to say that it has been an eye opener. It spoke so much of what I couldn't clearly identify when I was feeling the way I did...as a growing woman! Here are two passages that really stuck out to me...and this was only from the first chapter: We desire to possess a beauty that is worth pursuing, worth fighting for, a beauty that is core to who we truly are. We want beauty that can be seen; beauty that can be felt; beauty that affects others; a beauty all our own to unveil.
