[Day 23] Week 4
Where did week 3 go? LOL, I just forgot to write a post during that week...but no worries, nothing much has changed. The only thing is that my pain from my joints has decreased and it is probably because I took Enbrel on Friday night. However, the only pain I'm feeling (up until now) is the pain on my left hip. It's kinda awkward to walk a times because this is probably the first time I'm had pain there.
This week on the diet has not been going so well. I seem to keep cheating every week. Usually it's cheese or wheat with gluten in it. Since last week, my mom has been telling me to follow the diet strictly...but it's so hard. Monday night my dad decided to make himself and my brother a sub sandwich with this particular meat. I'm not sure what it was but it comes in a package and you just cook it. The aroma filled the house and my mouth was salivating. I wanted meat so bad! I thought that after 3 weeks you don't crave meats anymore. >sigh< I think it's because I've had cheese. Ayy...but at least I haven't had meat meat since I started this diet.
Every now and then I would think about going back to my "normal diet" with all the cheese and meats that I love. But then I look at myself now and have noticed a few changes. The most noticeable is my weight loss. My clothes have been fitting loosely and it feels good that I'm "smaller" again. Another difference is the "stuffed" feeling after eating. I don't feel as guilty or "stuffed" and I don't feel sluggish. I can still feel a little bit of pain from my arthritis but it is still kinda there. BUT I MISS MY MEATS, PROCESSED, AND FRIED FOODS!!!! This is really hard to do because this is supposed to be for life. This is too big of a lifestyle change. I mean, not only can I not have meats, processed, or fried foods, but I think breads (or anything) with gluten has an effect on my joints.
I think what's hard, too, is that I have to be careful of what I order from fast food restaurants. There aren't many "vegetarian" or "vegan" choices. If it doesn't have meat, it has cheese. It's like you can't get away from this. So sad...I imagine if I have my own family, I'd definitely want to implement this diet thing but then I'll feel like I'm going to deprive my kids of fast food places like McDondalds or Burger King, lol. Ah well, they won't miss much. I think it's worse when you grew up on foods like these for the majority of your life. It was so easy to go to fast food places and order whatever they had. We'll just see where this goes. I'm still going to lift this all up to God.
