[Day 32] Week 5
ONE MORE WEEK TO GO!!
So, I'm not really being consistent with this diet. These past weeks I would cheat with cheese or with things containing dairy products. But on Sunday...I had shrimp dumplings! My sister came down for the weekend and if we eat out, its a special treat. PLUS, we were eating at our favorite Chinese restaurant...I couldn't resist! So there...I had meat :[ , such a disappointment...lol, jk. What's really hard to resist was the pork and shrimp dumplings AND the general tso chicken! What a temptation! On the flip side, we did get to try other dim sum which were considered vegetarian...so that was cool.
Since starting this diet, I found that I would have to find other alternatives to things I would normally get with meat. But when I do discover vegetarian meals (more so when it's organic AND vegan), I get really excited. Just the other day, my young adult small group met at SpecialTea (a tea lounge) by FIU. They sell organic stuff and I really love some of the things they have on their menu, especially the pesto chicken panini. I was really craving it but I didn't want to have it with the chicken. I was really happy when they told me I could replace the meat with some vegetarian substitute. I'm not really sure what's in it, but it was soooooooo delicious!!
This is the 5th week and I'm still struggling with my craving for meats. I feel like when this 6 week challenge is done, I would like to have meats...but in smaller portions and maybe even once a week or once a month. I dunno. I guess we'll see, lol. Praying for God's strength!
