Last Entry for 2012

Another year is coming to a close and all I can think is...This year has gone by super fast!

Well, I had hoped to write more entries since my last update, but I guess I can write a quick one just to summarize a few highlights of 2012:

1. GRAD SCHOOL
So yes, I finally was able to graduate with my Masters in Social Work! When I look back at my time during the program, I just think of how fast it's gone by. I remember how each semester I wondered if I was going to pass, thinking that there might be the off chance I have to retake the class and get held back another semester. I guess you could say I was a little paranoid. BUT I'm so thankful for the handful of people who are quick to remind me of God's faithfulness and His all sufficient grace.

2. HEALTH
Yea...so, I can definitely say that my diet has been increasingly healthy if compared to previous years where only about less than 10% of what I consumed were raw/steamed vegetables. When I was doing the elimination diet, I have noticed significant improvement in my joints, as well as the long term effects of sustained improvement as I had not followed the elimination diet as strictly by the 3rd week. However, I was also running out of my prescription medication simultaneously and now...my joints are much worse than when I started in the beginning of 2012. Part of the reason is because I have not been seeing my rheumatologist since May and was unable to get my prescriptions refilled when it was running out. I used my internship as an excuse of keeping me busy, but I think I was just lazy to set an appointment. By December of this year, my ankles have gotten swollen...then my knees, my hips, my wrist, my elbows, and my shoulders are affected. Different joints are worse than others and I'm just taking it day by day. I'm currently taking vitamins and supplements to help me until I see my rheumatologist around the first 2 weeks of January. I'm just praying that it doesn't get worse until I see my doctor. And well, here's the thing, my situation with my joints has motivated me to continue trying to eat the better food choices. We'll see...

3. IN A RELATIONSHIP
I introduce to you, my boyfriend, Nio!
Since January of this year, I met Nio. By February/March, we started talking...and by May 5, we made our relationship official. There's much to say about it, but one thing I make sure people understand is that our relationship has God's fingerprints all over it because it tells them that it is God who is writing out the details of this pretty cool love story. To those I have shared the story of my relationship with Nio, I am so encouraged by their incredible support and prayers for Nio & I. I would like to share more about the journey of how we have come to this point in our relationship but I will have to reserve that for another time because I don't have time to write out a novel, lol! Seriously though...I think I'd have to write out a timeline or something because it's just that crazy cool! :]

That pretty much sums up the events of 2012. I'm über excited for the New Year and the many wonderful surprises and blessings it will bring!
